AI in assessment and feedback: from assessment competence to assessment wisdom

Today, during my workshop and demo, I was able to show how AI does not replace assessment, but actually strengthens assessment competence.

With the Toets Companion and Feedback Companion, we explored how teachers can use AI to:

• design challenging and valid assessments,
• make formative feedback more personal and efficient,
• and do all of this within a safe, European AI environment with EduGPT.

It was great to see how quickly participants made the shift from ‘AI as a tool’ to ‘AI as a companion’, a partner in thinking, designing and guiding.
