Looking back on the 3rd CoP Generative AI at Windesheim

· 1 min read · Pascal Mariany

What an honour to speak at the third Community of Practice Generative AI at Windesheim! A dynamic platform that facilitates knowledge sharing, practical applications, networking and ethical discussions. A place where entrepreneurs, teachers, experts, SMEs, researchers and students meet and shape the future of generative A.I. together.

It was a packed event with lots of energetic breakout sessions! And even the mayor of Zwolle, Peter Snijders, was there! My breakout session, entitled “Feedback Companion and running AI locally: the future of AI in education”, was a journey through responsible and transparent possibilities of AI in education.

During the breakout session we explored how the Feedback Companion, running via Microsoft Azure within the EU, supports lecturers and students in feedback processes, and how local AI can be used in a way that is not only innovative but also privacy-friendly. The interactive format, in which participants could bring their own laptops and practical examples, led to a lively exchange of ideas and experiences.

Important themes such as the AI Act and GDPR legislation were also central, which led to interesting discussions about how AI can be applied safely and responsibly. You can download and view the presentation below:

I would like to say a special word of thanks to Rob van de Star for organising this valuable event and for his invitation. Thanks to his contribution and the involvement of everyone present, this was a wonderful experience.

Together we keep working on the future of learning with technology!
