🎙️ AI agents in action: a look behind the scenes of our podcast recording

This week I joined a podcast remotely about one of the most exciting developments in education: AI agents. Together with Peter Loonen (Metis Onderwijsadvies) and Thijs Wesselink (Koning Willem I College), we explored the world of digital assistants that don't just respond, but can also act on their own. No theory, but a working example: a generative agent that independently processes feedback, runs workflows and combines data.
📅 The episode goes online in two weeks — with video. And there's a good reason for that. During the conversation I show live on my screen how to build your own AI agent with n8n and what Open WebUI looks like. Open WebUI is an open-source ChatGPT-like interface that you can host entirely within Europe. The same goes for n8n. For a short demo of n8n, take a look at this LinkedIn post.
Among other things, we discussed:
- ✅ What an AI agent actually is (and what it isn't)
- 🛠️ How to build one yourself without any programming experience
- 🧠 The impact on personalised learning and pedagogical control
- ⚖️ The ethical side of autonomy and dependency
- 🌱 And of course: how you can get started with this yourself as a teacher or team
- 🤓 And also how techies and non-techies can find common ground
“n8n is really a digital conveyor belt on which you place your own machines that carry out tasks as soon as something passes by.”
Curious? Keep an eye on Education Oracle or follow me on LinkedIn. I'll soon share the episode with the full video and a practical how-to for anyone who wants to experiment themselves.
See you soon — and perhaps in your own agent workflow 😉
